I jumped the gun a little this weekend and pulled out my copy of White Christmas to watch while I contemplated where to put the few decorations I have left.....I know it's a little early to be getting into the Christmas movies but since it's one of my favorite movies EVER and it looks like a White Christmas might be the stuff of my imagination this season...I just couldn't resist...

You'll notice that I mentioned that I only have a few decorations left and that's because I...to put it plainly...am a feather brain...You see...last year...I decided that it was time to let go of most of my Christmas decorations...most of which could be used to decorate an 80"s disco club...I had decided it was time to update my ragtag collection of hand-me-down tinsle ahnd retro inspired lights and exchange them for a more subtle...classy...modern with a splash of Victorian- themed ensemble...my brilliant thinking at the time was that I would take advantage of all of the boxing day sales and buy everything I needed after Christmas for the following year...

The only problem was...that with the Easyhome commercial shoot, a trip to Jamaica, and all of the auditions I ended up going to in January...I totally forgot...until last week...when I went to my storage room to look for my decorations...once I dismissed my initial thought that I had been robbed...I remembered my grand plan of last year....

So now the dilemna is...do I go out now and purchase all of my decorations at top price before the holidays...or make do with the few I have until after the holidays when everything is on sale...as I've said here before...I am extremely practical when it comes to money so going out and spending alot of cash on Christmas decorations at peak season seems wasteful...especially with a Christmas list of people I'm buying for that is currently the length of my left leg...but the whimsical side of me cant imagine NOT having Christmas decorations up during the holidays....there's nothing I like better at this time of year than to sit in front of my fireplace...all decorated for the season...wrapping presents and gazing out over the winter wonderland that is our backyard...it's heaven...heaven with twinkling lights...

I guess I'm going to have to abandon my scrooge-like budget for the season and get them before Christmas because I cant imagine not having any...even if it's just for this season...hey ...maybe the old ones I donated to Goodwill are still there...from the looks of them when I dropped them off...unless they were looking for set decorations for Charlie Brown's Christmas or an 80's bordello...I'm thinking they might be:)
