Good morning !
Jamie and I are both a little bleary eyed this morning after all of our adventures yesterday.
You may or may not have heard that we were both invited to be a part of the 2nd Anual Mayor of Springwater Township's Golf Tournament for RVH. Despite having crazy schedules of late, Jamie and I didn't want to miss the opprtunity to spend the day and golf with World Champion Curler and all around swell guy Glen Howard.
I think Jamie would agree with me hen I say that despite his success, Glen is one of the most down to earth, funny, and classy celebs we've ever met. We had an absolute hoot yesterday and even though I usually find 18 holes a little bit much for me, the time passed quickly aand we were dissapointed to see the day end. Having grown up in a curling family, spending the day with legend like Glen ranked high on my personal list of career highlights. Thanks to Glen, Julie, and Mayor Guergis for having us!
Speaking of world champions...surprising news this morning that world champion Jeff Buttle plans to hang up his skates and not go for the gold in front of a home crowd in 2010. According to Jeff, he's just "not that into it" anymore and he felt it was time to go out when he was on top. Having followed Jeff for much of his career, I have to say that even though I'm dissapointed that we wont have him to root for in 2010, I trust his judgement...he's a solid human being with a great head on his shoulders...if he says it's time...it's time...no question. With that said, he's an incredible guy with a bright future and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with in the next chapter of his life..
We also still have so many talented skaters left to carry the torch for us in 2010...I dont have a crystal ball but I have a feeling we'll still be making the podium in 2010 in Men's Figure Skating:)
Have a great day,
