I can't even describe how much fun I, half of the B101 Board Babes team, had at Horseshoe Resort on Saturday!
All my life I've heard "practice makes perfect"... and I've always known that it's only half true... practice just makes you better... and this weekend was a perfect example of that.
It was only my second time snowboarding, and I feel like I'm getting it! If you've been snowboarding before, you'll know that it's not typically the easiest thing to get right off the bat, and luckily, I've had some lessons from our great instructor Matt who has guided us very well... even with a few minor falls along the way, it's been one of the most exhilerating things of my life...
On Saturday I felt way more confident on the slopes and had such a great time. Sure, there was lots of falling, but falling is half of the fun when you're snowboarding. I was standing on my toe's edge more(the snowboarders will understand that) and I was able to conquer my greatest fear on the hills... no, it's not the black diamond hills... it's not even doing anything in the terrain park.. my greatest fear and GOAL had been to not fall when I was getting off of the chairlift! I don't know why, but I felt so much pressure when I was getting off of the lift.... do I get off of it now? Am I getting off of it too early? Is it going to push me off so I go flying down the hill? This weekend, I didn't fall once when I was getting off of the chairlift.. not once!
If you've been contemplating taking skiing or snowboarding lessons, try it out at Horseshoe Resort. I have nothing but great things to say about all of the instructors there. Just seeing them work with people of all different ages and all different skill levels, they are just wonderful!
