I was really surprised to read this- more than half of brides to be and 39 percent of grooms consider cosmetic surgery or an aesthetic treatment to prepare for their wedding.
Lots of brides are interested in anything from botox to teeth whitening to breast augmentation. I prefer my 'ladies' to be the size of raisins, less material to pay for on the dress :)
Is it just me, or did weddings seem so much more fun and relaxed years ago? When my parents got married (it'll be 30 years in January) I don't think they had any stress before their wedding. My mom made her own wedding cake, I've seen the pictures and it was beautiful. Her dress was simple, yet it still looked elegant and gorgeous on her. There weren''t 500 guests at her wedding, expensive centrepieces or chair covers like I see on the multiple wedding shows... and my parents are still going strong 30 years later.
I get how important a wedding is to us women... we dream of it when we're kids. We give our Barbie's glamorous weddings... we take our brother's superman cape and put it over the front of our face so it looks like a vale... no, I'm not speaking from personal experience:) So yes, I get that brides want their weddings to be perfect. But your groom chooses to marry you for YOU! Why would you want to look different? Especially with something like botox... quite frankly, it can be a scary looking thing... I mean, have you seen the transition on Nicole Kidman's face? She can barely lift her brows!
Here are the most popular cosmetic surgeries to have before the wedding according to the brides to be:
1. Botox - 68 percent
2. Teeth Whitening - 62 percent
3. Liposuction - 55 percent
4. Breast Augmentation - 47 percent
5. Face plumpers - 43 percent
For the grooms:
1. Veneers - 78 percent
2. Botox - 62 percent
3. Hair Plugs - 41 percent
4. Liposuction - 33 percent
5. Chest Reduction - 25 percent
Hair plugs?! Chest reduction?! Who are these people marrying, Mickey Rourke? To quote Macauly Culkin in Home Alone when he saw a picture of his brother Buzz's girlfriend- "Woof".
