I'm certainly getting into the Halloween spirit. My weekend was filled with evil clowns, gorey zombies, and high pitched screams... that were my own.
Most of the screams came from the haunted houses at Wonderland's Halloween Haunt, but I have to put some of the blame for my damaged vocal cords on the rollercoasters. I promised myself this year would be a year of trying new things- white water rafting this summer was brand new to me, and it was one of the best times of my life, so I know that I have to continue saying yes to more experiences.
I haven't been on a rollercoaster in 11 years- and the last rollercoaster I went on was in the kids section at Wonderland. Quite frankly, rollercoasters terrify me- I hate the anticipation going up on the rollercoaster and looking down towards your potential death, the feeling of the drop in your stomach, your head bobbing side to side... not exactly FUN for me. However, I went on two rollercoasters at wonderland and survived while cursing like a sailor.
Off to the haunted houses at Wonderland- THIS was interesting. Years back I went to Screemers (same idea as the Halloween Haunt) and was horrified by the clowns and by ghostface from Scream chasing after me with a chainsaw in an outside maze. I never thought I'd go into a haunted house ever again- well, I did, and even though I made a fool of myself the entire way in each house, I really had fun.
How did I make a fool of myself? I'm uncoordinated at the best of times. Enter scary masked men popping out of everywhere in a dark house and the floor turns into an ice rink. I fell at least 12 times that I can remember (although my friends seem to think it was more). I was making 12 year old girls look brave, it was pretty ridiculous. The scariest house was the 3D clown house- my boyfriend's friend decided to tell the clown my name, so here's the terrifying clown with a knife in his shoulder going "Ohhhh Robbbynnnn!"
With all of that being said, it was really, really fun. I highly suggest you check out the Halloween Haunt at Wonderland. Totally worth the money, but dress warm! Gloves, hat and a warm jacket. I also found out that I have a new talent- an awesome horror movie scream!
Maybe you can help me out with this- I've heard about a haunted hayride somewhere near barrie, but don't know exactly where or what it is- do you know of any for this halloween in our area?
