It's stories like these that make my heart melt.
If I see the word "puppy" in an article, I automatically check it out:)
An eight week deaf old puppy in Australia is learning sign language.
Pixie the Border Collie is being taught to recognise hand commands by her trainer Liz Grewal. And Liz sounds like a wonderful person, she has been an owner of deaf dogs for six years. So far she has taught this young pup to sit, drop and come forward.
She says dogs understand your body language and hand gestures. She also says it's all about consistency (something I've been lacking while trying to teach Jet not to jump on people).
Speaking of smart puppies, there will be tons of smart dogs at Paws for a Cause this weekend, taking place at Pet Country Estate in Innisifl. I'm so excited to be a part of the event this year, I have heard such wonderful things about it!
Join us at the event, it's 2 bucks for you to get in but your dog is free to join! There will be obedience and agility demonstrations and vendors too! All proceeds will go towards Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. This is a really big event full of four legged fun, so make sure you come out for it this Sunday. If you want more info, check out:
