I had to chuckle at something that happened to my parents a couple of days ago. My mom and dad were driving back from the dog park and a man who was driving on the opposite side of the street was way over the white line- almost to the point of side swiping my dad's car. So, my dad honked his horn and exercised his hand gestures so this man could see that he was getting too close to my dad's car.
While in passing, my mom realized that the driver of the vehicle was a very good family friend of ours.
This has happened to me before too with one of my former coworkers. But of course, I didn't know it was a coworker who was weaving in and out of traffic without signalling and cutting cars off. Soon it was my turn for the car to get in front of, so I honked my horn at him because I had seen how he was cutting off the other cars.
I'm shaking my head at this guy who has angered every car in his path. And then, I had to stop shaking my head at the guy... why? Because the car was turning into my parking lot where I work. Yes, it turns out it was a coworker of mine who was the horrible driver.
So how did we handle the situation? The mature way of course- we pretended that it didn't happen and walked in together to work!
Something good came out of this. I've been exercising my brain by memorizing the license plates of my friends and coworkers. I've gotten pretty good at it too- just in case a situation like this ever happens again, I'll be able to tell if it's someone I know in the car:)
