BODY PARTS FOUND IN TORONTO AND MISSISSAUGA LIKELY FROM SAME PERSON: POLICE

PEEL REGION

8/20/2012

Police say human remains found in east Toronto over the weekend have ``obvious similarities'' to a head, a foot and two hands found in a river in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police Sgt. Pete Brandwood says investigators aren't in a position right now to disclose what body part was found Saturday in a bag.

A woman's head, a right foot with yellow painted toenails and two hands were found last week in the Credit River in the Hewick Meadows Park area.

Police say it's likely all of the body parts came from the same person.

But Brandwood says investigators are ``pretty close'' to determining the identity of the victim.
