A two year battle over a quarry expansion in the Stayner-area has gone in favour of Walker Aggregates.
The expansion was supported by Clearview Township and the County of Simcoe.
Simcoe-dot-com reports the Consolidated Hearings Board threw its support to Walker, noting the history of the existing quarry and the lack of negative impact to the water supply.
A local resident, the Clearview Community Coalition and the Niagara Escarpment Commission fought the expansion saying it would harm the environment.
The quarry, located west of Duntroon, on County Road 91, will expand to a property across the street
