Gooooood morning!!!!!!
The B101 crew had an absolute BLAST at Medieval Times last night- Corus Barrie knows how to party! We all loaded up on a comfy coach bus yesterday evening and drove down to Toronto for the big dinner and tournament. I have been wanting to go to Medieval Times for years and when our boss surprised us with the news that I would be going with my coworkers, I was beyond thrilled!
I could eat with my hands and be messy and it would be acceptable! I could head back in time and cheer for my knight in shining armour!
And that's exactly what we did last night. Medieval Times was everything I thought it would be. When we arrived we were given blue crowns to wear (mine kept falling over my eyes, I think I need to grow a larger head) and we were put in the blue section. We were to cheer on the blue knight... and trust me, we cheered him on so much and booed the other knights so much that today, my vocal cords are reallllly feeling it :)
So off we went to the blue section. My coworker and BFF Will Nash and I were both starving so the 'dragon's blood soup' (AKA tomato soup) really hit the spot. The food wench (seriously, that's what she called herself) served up some garlic bread with our soup that we had to gulp down (that's right, no cutlery whatsoever!) It was delicious. We were also served a huuuuge amount of roasted chicken, roasted potatoes, ribs and to top it all off, a delicious apple tart at the end of the meal. I was beyond full but couldn't stop eating- I wanted the full experience!
Aside from the awesome meal, the tournament was really entertaining. We cheered on our blue knight (who unfortunately, didn't win but was pretty nice to look at!) like there was no tomorrow. I had to kick Will Nash under the table at the beginning of the night though because he forgot we were only cheering for the blue knight... so when the first knight came out (the yellow knight) he started clapping- what a traiter!
During the tournament, the knights give out carnations to a few lucky ladies in the audience. Our blue knight pointed at my coworker Kate and I and threw a flower to us. Just like in a wedding, the flower went flying and all of the women at the table tried to get it... but... there can only be one :)

Before being charmed by the blue knight, here's Will and I ready to watch the tournament and eat with our hands!

The tournament

Here he is.... all hail our blue knight!!!

If you've never been to Medieval times before... it's a great place to take the kids, your friends, do a birthday party or even go on a date. Two thumbs up for Medieval Times!!!!!!!!!!!
