MISSING GIRL FROM NEW TECUMSETH

Police are looking for a missing 17 year old from New Tecumseth.

Christine Srickland has not been in contact with friends or family since May 21, at 3:00pm.

She is described as a black female with a medium build, approximately 168 centimetres and 64 kilograms; she has black medium length hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a white shirt, gray tights and running shoes and is known to frequent the Newmarket area.

Power has been restored to Honda Canada in Alliston.

Nottawasaga OPP were fielding tons of calls yesterday with the wild weather causing multiple traffic hazards, trees and hydro poles down as well as wires.

Still come closures in effect including County Road 10 from Highway 89 to the 5th sideroad of Essa and the Fifth line closed from the 5th sideroad to Highway 89.

The closures remain in effect until its safe for vehicles.

A 34 New Tecumseth resident, who drove through a road closed sign, was charged with being over the legal limit for alcohol.

BUS? WHAT BUS?

A 35 year old Barrie woman has been charged with failing to stop for a school bus and for texting while driving.

Police pulled her over this morning about 730 at Livingstone and Brown Wood Drive after seeing her fail to stop for a school bus with all of its cautionary lights on and the stop arm activated.

When the officer asked her whether she saw the bus...she replied " What school bus? I was checking the weather forecast on my phone".

ARSON CHARGE

A 19 year old man has been charged in connection with a fire at a residence on Elgin Street in Orillia on April 21st.

OPP say the suspect, who is from Orillia, has been charged with break and enter with intent and arson.

HAND CREAM MEAL

Don't know if tasted good, but the driver of a vehicle pulled over by the OPP in Barrie was spotted eating from a tube of hand cream.

Police say the motorist was stopped for making an improper turn from Highway 400 southbound onto Bayfield Street.

The hand cream had no effect on the person's breath.

The driver was given a three-day licence suspension and also charged with having an open container of alcohol.

Honda Canada in Alliston says the afternoon and midnight shifts at the plant will operate as normal.

The daytime shift was scrapped due to a power outage caused by yesterday's severe storms.

FUNERAL FOR TIM BOSMA

A funeral will be held today for Tim Bosma -- the Hamilton man
found dead after taking two men on a test drive in his pickup truck
he was trying to sell.

The service is due to start at 11 a-m E-T at a Hamilton banquet
centre.

Bosma, who was 32, leaves a wife and two-year-old daughter.

His charred remains were found on a farm belonging to Dellen
Millard, a 27-year-old heir to an aviation business.

Millard is charged with first-degree murder, forcible
confinement, and theft.

At least one other suspect is being sought.

MORE STORMS ON TAP

More than 3,000 Ontario Hydro customers in central
Ontario spent the night without electricity after a powerful storm
ripped through the area.

The utility expects repairs in the affected areas from cottage
country north of Toronto east through the Bobcaygeon area to be
completed by this evening.

A line of severe thunderstorms brought damaging winds, hail and
heavy rain to the area Tuesday, snapping branches and flooding some
roads.

In Orangeville, a vehicle was blown off a highway and into a
ditch but police say it was due to strong winds and not a tornado.

Near Alliston, several people were reportedly stranded in
vehicles that were hit by falling hydro poles along County Road 10.

"BORDEN ROCKET'" READY FOR LAUNCH

Barrie Transit is about launch its rocket---the so-called "Borden Rocket."

Beginning in mid-August, the Route 90 bus service will operate to Angus and Base Borden.

The cost of the service is being covered by Essa Township.

A transit agreement will be signed today between the Mayors of Essa and Barrie.
