Looks like Mariah Carey might get one of the open spots at the judges' table on ``American Idol.'' People familiar with the talks say Carey is one of those considered  and that it's the people from the Fox show that are doing the pressing for her to take the job. Carey has been asked to sit on the panel for other talent competition  besides Idol.

Jennifer Lopez says now that ``American Idol'' is behind her, a return to the movies is in front of her. She says she really missed acting during her two seasons on Idol. She says she was able to keep her hand in the music business because the show was so much about music. But she says now that she's free of the Idol grind, she wants to grind out some more movies.

 A couple of California judges have gotten a wrist slap over their dealings with a drunken driving case involving Lindsay Lohan. The Los Angeles Times reports the two LA County judges got what's known as advisory letters. Marsha Revel got a letter for meeting alone with an attorney who wanted to take over Lohan's defence in the 2010 DUI case. And Elden Fox was scolded for denying the actress bail on a relatively minor charge and refusing to hear her attorney's arguments.

Uma, baby. Baby, Uma. OK, it's our way of letting you know that the actress has had her third child. She gave birth to a girl the dad is her boyfriend. A rep for the actress wouldn't release any other details, including the baby's name. Uma Thurman is 42 and has two older children, ages 13 and 10.
