The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Toby Enstrom to a five-year contract extension. The price tag on the deal was not disclosed, but the 27-year-old could have become an unrestricted free agent next summer. The Swedish defencemen appeared in 62 games last season with the Jets, scoring six goals and recording 27 assists.

The Hornets, Suns and Timberwolves say a three-team deal has been completed that will send centre Robin Lopez and forward Hakim Warrick from Phoenix to New Orleans, forward Wesley Johnson and a first-round draft pick go from Minnesota to the Suns. The deal also sends the contracts of Jerome Dyson and Brad Miller from New Orleans to Phoenix. Minnesota receives three second-round draft picks in the deal.

The Toronto Blue Jays open a three-game series against Detroit tonight at the Rogers Centre. Carlos Villanueva takes the mound for the Jays against the Tigers, who are currently a half-game back of the Chicago White Sox for the A-L Central lead.

The Vancouver Whitecaps will be playing in the only M-L-S game tonight. The 'Caps are in Utah after coming off a 2-1 win over San Jose last weekend. Vancouver is trying to make up ground to shorten a five-point difference to Western Conference with second-place Real Salt Lake.

Ricky Ray and Anthony Calvillo will face each other for the first time this season as the Toronto Argonauts visit the Montreal Alouettes in the lone C-F-L game. One of the two teams will take the lead of the East Division. Ray and Calvillo lead the C-F-L in passing yards through four weeks of the season.
